To All,
I hope this note finds you all in good health. I hope you and your families enjoyed a happy and safe Thanksgiving. I was happy to see so many of you at last Fall's alumni game.
For those who I have not had the pleasure of talking with for a while I say hello.
I am writing to ask your help for a program that I believe means a great deal to all of us, I know it does to me. I think of all of you often and what you accomplished on that field more than just a few years ago.
Marist as most of you know is a full Division 1 program competing in the MAC. This past Fall the school named Scott Nelson as the Head Coach. I have know Scott for a number of years from his days as the coach at Nazareth, where he won several national championships and his years as the Head Coach at Brown University. He has the background to make Marist a verey strong program.
The school supports the program far better than it did 15 or 20 years ago but the program still lacks the finances for the extra things that Division 1 programs should have.
Several weeks ago Coach Nelson sent a letter to many alumni asking for some financial support and he has told me that a number of former players have contributed and for that I thank you.
I realize we are in a difficult time in this country and also at a time of year that brings many ounforseen bills, but I would ask that if at all posible you if you can would sent a contribution to Coach Nelson at Marist for the improvement of the program.
I thank ou for you time. I wish all of you a very, Merry Christmas and a wonderful 2009.
I hope to see you all at a game this Spring!
Best Regards,
Coach Malet
